Shower Over Bath Installation in a New-Build Home

A new-build homeowner wanted a second shower for visiting guests. We installed new hot and cold pipework, coordinated full-height tiling around the bath and fitted a T-bar mixer shower with an over-bath screen.

The customer's requirements

A client who had recently purchased a new-build property contacted Can Do Plumbing about adding a shower over the main bathroom bath. The only existing shower was in the en suite, and they wanted guests to have another showering option without needing to use that room.

Creating the water supplies

We carried out the first-fix plumbing, creating new hot and cold water feeds from beneath the bath to supply an exposed T-bar mixer shower. Isolation valves were included to make future maintenance more straightforward.

Preparing the walls

The original developer had tiled only to half height. We coordinated with our subcontractor tiler, Rab, who attended to tile the remaining wall areas around the bath in preparation for shower use.

Finishing the installation

Once the tiling was ready, Can Do Plumbing fitted the exposed T-bar mixer shower, shower riser and an over-the-bath shower screen.

Looking after the home: We used floor protection during the works, with particular care around the customer's carpets and access areas.

The result

The customer now has an additional shower-over-bath facility for guests, without needing to make use of the shower in the en suite.
