What happens during a boiler service?
Our engineer follows the appliance manufacturer’s relevant instructions, assessing safe operation and carrying out the servicing checks appropriate to your boiler. Work may include examining accessible components, testing appliance operation and combustion where applicable, checking safety-related functions and documenting findings.
Different models have different service requirements. More extensive strip-down work is not automatically included in every routine service and any additional work or parts are discussed before proceeding.
Prices for additional diagnosis, repairs, parts or specialist cleaning are separate. A seasonal promotion, if available, will be clearly identified when booking.
Servicing is not the same as breakdown diagnosis
If your boiler has an active fault code, frequently locks out, loses pressure or fails to provide heating or hot water, please tell us before arranging a service. A separate boiler breakdown investigation may be more appropriate. A service cannot be assumed to resolve existing faults.
What if we find a problem?
We explain our findings and any recommended next steps. Where repairs are viable, we will discuss them. If the boiler is older or uneconomical to repair, we can also explain potential replacement options without pressuring you to replace a repairable appliance.

What is included in a boiler service?
We carry out checks and servicing appropriate to your boiler and its manufacturer’s instructions, including safety and operational checks. Any additional dismantling or replacement parts are discussed separately.
Will a boiler service repair a fault code?
Not necessarily. A service is routine maintenance, not a breakdown investigation. Please tell us about any current fault codes, lockouts or loss of heating before booking.
How much does a boiler service cost?
Our standard boiler service is £100 plus VAT (£120 including VAT). Any seasonal offer will have its own stated dates and terms. Additional work is quoted separately.
Do I need a service every year?
Annual servicing is generally recommended and may be required under appliance warranty conditions. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions.
What if the engineer identifies a fault?
We will explain the findings, any safety action needed and whether a further diagnostic or repair appointment is appropriate. Further chargeable work is discussed first.
Should I book a service if I have no heating or hot water?
If your heating or hot water has stopped working, a breakdown investigation is usually more appropriate. Use our boiler repairs page to tell us what is happening.
